Between the two of you
The shortest privacy policy we could write.
The Archive of Us stores everything you write on your own device. There is no account, no server holding your answers, and nothing of yours passing through us — which makes this policy unusually easy to keep.

What we hold about you
Nothing, in the ordinary run of things. Everything you write in the app — reflections, the thread between you, the joint note, the lot — is stored locally in your browser’s storage, on your device. It never leaves it unless you choose to export or print it. We have no accounts, no sign-up, and no database of your answers to lose, leak, or be tempted by.
The archive you export
When you open the printable archive document, it is generated on your device and handed to you. Where you save it, post it, or frame it is entirely your business. We never receive a copy.
What that means in practice
- Your answers live in the browser you wrote them in, on the device you wrote them on. Clearing that browser’s site data deletes them — so export anything you’d mind losing.
- We cannot read, recover, or restore your answers, because we never had them.
- If you share a device, anyone using that browser can open the app and read what’s stored there. A friendship archive is private to the device, not to a login.
The marketing site
The public pages (this one, the questions archive, the welcome page) are static pages. They set no cookies and run no advertising or social-media trackers. Our hosting provider keeps standard, short-lived server logs (IP address, page requested) to keep the site running and fend off abuse, as every host does.
Your rights, under UK GDPR
You have all the usual rights — access, correction, deletion, portability. With us they are unusually simple to exercise, because the personal data the law protects is already in your hands and nobody else’s. If you write to us, we’ll hold your email only as long as it takes to reply properly.
If you need us
Write to rob@peopleworklife.com or to People Work Life Limited (UK company number 16547876), 26 Cromwell Road, Ascot, SL5 9DG, United Kingdom. A real person answers — often the same day.
